7- You need bowel preparation before any colon or rectal surgery. Buy one pack of PicoSalax and follow the instructions.
8- You need Fleet Enema in the morning of your surgery for any operations for hemorrhoid/fistula/anal fissure. Buy it over the counter and follow the instructions.
9- DO NOT SMOKE at least a month before your surgery and at least a month after. Smoking is significantly interfering with your wound healing and will increase your chances of wound infection up to seven times. Infection can be disastrous with hernia repair and intestine operations.

Do Not Smoke: Smoking has been shown to slow the healing process and increase your chance of infection. Your primary care doctor can help with medications or patches.
